What is a Christian Science Reading Room?
A: It’s a place where lives can be changed. Similar to a library or bookstore, a Reading Room offers a place to read, pray, and get inspired. It’s a space where many have been healed by studying the lessons of the Bible and nurturing a connection with God.
Current status of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Grass Valley, Reading Room located at:
147 Mill Street, Grass Valley
(530) 273-0790
10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Mon-Sat
(closed certain holidays)
The Governor of California has ordered a statewide “Stay at Home” mandate until further notice. The Reading Room will be obedient to that mandate and is requesting the staff, church members, and friends to study, etc., from home, rather than coming into the Reading Room, until we hear updates changing this mandate.
The Reading Room will continue to visually and metaphysically support the community with the interactive messages in the window each week, providing online resources for passer-byers, keeping 'thoughts for the day' and free periodicals outside, the Christian Science Monitor in the case to read, and uplifting messages via our social media.
Do you have questions about Christian Science? Want to explore the Bible more deeply? Looking for a quiet place to pray? A Christian Science Reading Room is the perfect spot for all of these things and more.
We're open to the public six days a week and are here to answer questions about spiritual healing and help you discover answers for yourself. Learn more about Christian Science and its relationship to the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
